The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for private candidates, while withholding the results of some candidates over suspected malpractices.

A total of 38,727 candidates-comprising 17,596 males and 21,131 females-registered for the private examination.

However, 1,354 registered candidates did not sit for the exams.

A statement issued by WAEC in Accra on  February 28 2025, during the marking process, examination malpractices were detected, hence, the results of 303 candidates have been withheld for specific subjects, while 108 candidates have had their entire results withheld, pending investigations into suspected irregularities.
