In a significant move to bolster security and counter-terrorism efforts within the West African subregion, Ghana is set to host the 2nd International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEC) from August 28 to 29, 2024. The event, organized by the Ghana Armed Forces, will bring together more than 600 international and regional defence delegates, marking it as a pivotal gathering for security professionals and stakeholders across Africa and beyond. Speaking at a media briefing ahead of the conference, Brigadier General Salifu, the Chairman of the IDEC 2024 Organizing Committee, emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing regional security cooperation. He noted that the conference is a strategic part of Ghana's ongoing efforts to strengthen security frameworks and combat the growing threat of terrorism within the subregion. "IDEC 2024 provides a crucial platform for defence and security leaders to come together, share insights, and collaborate on strategies to address the pressing security challenges facing Africa, particularly the threats posed by terrorism," Brig.
