In line with the Flagbearer of the (NDC), 's free fee policy for level 100 students, a group called University Academics, Researchers, and Administrators in Ghana has endorsed the policy. In a press release signed by the Secretary of the Progressives Intellectuals (PI), Dr. Shafic Suleman, the group strongly believes the policy will alleviate the financial burden on parents and students in financing tertiary education. Dr. Suleman stated that, "Progressives Intellectuals is willing to support the NDC and any other political party whose policies aim to improve accessibility to higher education for the teeming youth and enhance the quality of our education system." He said, "As a group that leans towards social democratic principles, we yearn to cooperate with progressive forces, including political parties, to accelerate national development through education.
