The Deputy Minister Designate for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, has revealed that the government is set to undertake a comprehensive nationwide assessment to address water shortages across the country.
Speaking during her vetting before the Appointments Committee, she emphasized the need to evaluate both existing and upcoming water infrastructure projects to ensure equitable distribution. "Per my briefing with staff at the Ministry, there are pipeline projects, and there are also those that are ongoing. "So, I believe an assessment is already being done," she stated, highlighting the ministry's ongoing efforts.
She further stressed the importance of filling infrastructural gaps to guarantee access to clean water. "And what my Minister plans to do is to look at a countrywide exercise and to see where we have to fill in the gaps because water is very essential."
