Lawyers for Gifty Oware Mensah, the former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), have clarified that her recent travels were a personal break following the 2024 general elections, dismissing speculations surrounding her whereabouts.
In a statement issued on Friday, 28 February 2025, her legal representatives, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, emphasised that she remains committed to Ghana and has no intention of relocating. "Our client exercised her freedom of movement guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution to travel outside the country to take a break after the 2024 general elections.
It is worthy of note that even while on her break, she joined the Black Queens in Morocco in February 2025 as an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)," the statement read.
The clarification comes amid speculation following the arrest of former NSA Deputy Executive Director, Kwaku Ohene Djan, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the National Service Scheme (NSS) ghost name scandal.
