In a speech delivered at the General Meeting of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs at Dodowa, Hon.
Minister of the Interior, Muntaka Mohamed-Mubarak, appealed to chiefs and queen mothers in the country to support the security services in disbanding vigilantism and land guard activities, which pose significant threats to national security.
He stressed the vital role traditional leaders play in maintaining peace and security in Ghana, which cannot be overstated, and therefore they should be encouraged to support the security services.
The Minister noted the need for alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to address chieftaincy disputes, which have led to curfews across the country.
