President has described the state of Ghana's economy as "not good." According to him, the economy inherited by his government is burdened with heavy debts and severe economic challenges.

He acknowledged that Ghanaians are suffering.

During his first State of the Nation Address in on February 27, 2025, he stated, "I am sad to report that the state of our nation is not good.

Our economy is in crisis, and our people are experiencing unprecedented hardship." President Mahama's address, in line with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, is expected to outline his ambitious "Resetting Ghana" agenda, aimed at tackling economic challenges, creating jobs, and restoring stability.
