The Minister-Designate for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture, Yussif Issaka Jajah, has emphasized the critical role of public sensitization and awareness campaigns in unlocking the full potential of Ghana's tourism sector.

Appearing before Parliament's Appointments Committee on Wednesday for his vetting, Jajah highlighted the need to promote domestic tourism and showcase lesser-known tourist sites across the country.

He noted that while iconic destinations like the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, the National Museum, and Cape Coast Castle attract significant attention, many other potential tourist sites remain underutilized due to a lack of awareness.

He stressed the importance of encouraging Ghanaians to explore their own country, arguing that domestic tourism could serve as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation.
