Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has stressed the urgent need to create employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth, warning that rising unemployment poses a serious threat to national stability.

Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV's Face to Face, Opare Addo described the situation as a "time bomb," emphasising the potential risks if urgent action is not taken. "We are sitting on a time bomb with young people.

We have an advantage of a very youthful population that can be put to work positively," he stated.

He cautioned that without adequate opportunities, many young people might turn to illicit activities, leading to broader societal challenges. "If we don't turn those energies round positively, that energy becomes negative for all of us and we all suffer for it," he added.
