The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has expressed concern over the increasing number of people being widowed as a result of road crashes involving men. According to the NRSA, men accounted for approximately 79 percent of road fatalities between January and July 2024. The Director for Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation at the NRSA, Daniel Wuaku, disclosed this during the launch of the Road Safety Code of Practice for political activities, in Accra, as reported by citinewsroom.com. He said women in Ghana are disproportionately affected by road fatalities, as they often have to cope with the loss of their loved ones. "Women constitute just 21% of deaths recorded between January and July 2024. Men constitute 79%.
