Six Ghanaian peacekeeping soldiers injured in an accident at Saka, near Zebilla, in the Upper East Region have been airlifted to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical treatment.

The soldiers were on escort duty to Bawku on Saturday, February 22, 2025, when their light-armoured vehicle suffered a mechanical failure.

A tyre dislodged, causing the vehicle to lose control and somersault multiple times, leading to the death of one soldier and injuries to six others.

TV3's Upper East Regional correspondent Castro Senyalah reports that the injured soldiers initially received treatment at a hospital in the region.
