Students of Odorgonno Senior High School staged a protest on the Awoshie-Anyaa road, demanding urgent action over a malfunctioning traffic light outside their school that has caused frequent accidents and heavy traffic congestion.
The protest, which saw students block the busy road, follows the tragic death of a school security guard in a hit-and-run incident last Thursday.
The students voiced their frustration over the lack of safety measures, highlighting that the faulty traffic light and absence of a pedestrian footbridge have put their lives at constant risk.
The students have called on authorities to fix the traffic lights and construct a footbridge to ensure their safety while crossing the road.
