A concerned Ghanaian woman has sparked a wave of reactions on social media after raising alarms about potentially harmful fruit ripening practices in some of Ghana's markets.

In a heartfelt video shared on TikTok on February 20, 2025, user Mrslalas1 voiced her concerns directly to the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), urging them to take swift action to protect consumers.

Her post, which has since garnered over 1.5K shares and hundreds of comments, sheds light on a troubling practice that many shoppers may be unaware of. "FDA, if you don't wake up, our mothers selling fruits will eventually kill most Ghanaians with their illegal practices," she warned in the video.

Mrslalas1 revealed that her own mother sells fruits, giving her firsthand insight into the methods some vendors use.
