Martin Amidu has accused Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng of orchestrating a politically motivated scheme to declare former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive.

He argues that the decision is a continuation of a deep-seated agenda within the John Mahama administration, intended to shield certain political figures while targeting others.

Amidu claims that during Agyebeng's vetting, key parliamentary figures like James Agalga and Mahama Ayariga deliberately avoided pressing questions about the Airbus SE-Ghana corruption case involving Mahama, while ensuring that the nominee made commitments regarding the Agyapa Royalties case, which implicated Ofori-Atta. "The fact that Agyebeng waited from August 2021 until January 2025-under Mahama's presidency-to issue his first summons to Ofori-Atta on unrelated matters, while completely ignoring Agyapa, exposes the real political game at play," Amidu asserted.

He further accused the current Attorney-General, Dominic Ayine, of playing a role in this agenda, linking it to a broader scheme to exonerate political allies. "What we are witnessing is nothing but Operation Release All Looters (ORAL), a direct contradiction of the supposed fight against corruption," he stated.
