Martin Amidu has once again condemned Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng's decision to declare former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive, calling it "without any foundation in law." He argues in an open letter available to MyNewsGH that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) knew Ofori-Atta was abroad when he was summoned, making the move a political gimmick under the Mahama administration. "This is nothing but a gargantuan scam by the deep state elite within both the NPP and NDC to deceive Ghanaians in the name of fighting corruption," Amidu stated.
He further accused Agyebeng of reneging on his promise to investigate the Agyapa Royalties case, which implicated Ofori-Atta. "Kissi Agyebeng stood before Parliament and swore to continue and conclude the Agyapa investigation. "What happened to that promise?" Amidu questioned.
Instead, he claims, Agyebeng closed the Airbus SE-Ghana corruption case in a manner that favored John Mahama. "He abandoned the Agyapa case and, in an election year, conveniently shut down the Airbus investigation to benefit Mahama," Amidu alleged.
He also pointed out Agyebeng's past ties with Mahama and Anas Aremeyaw Anas, suggesting political bias in his handling of corruption cases.
