Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced that Parliament will enforce heightened security measures on Thursday, February 27, 2025, during President John Dramani Mahama's State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The decision follows disclosures by Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, ahead of the highly anticipated address.
Mandated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, the SONA will present an assessment of Ghana's economic landscape and outline the administration's development strategy.
As part of the security arrangements, Members of Parliament must be seated in the chamber by 9:15 a.m., as National Security will restrict access after the President's arrival.
