The Osu Kinkawe Dzaase has rejected the nomination of Ishmael Nortey Adumuah to serve on a council at the Korley Klottey Municipal Assembly.
Instead, the Dzaase has recommended either Nii Kwabena Bonne V, Osu Alata Mantse, or Nii Nortey Otututse II, Osu Ashante Dzaasetse, whom it described as "recognized chiefs of the Osu Traditional Area who have been duly gazetted." In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Dzaase stated that Adumuah-who was formerly the Oshiahene of Osu until his suspension-had been put forward as a traditionalist and entrepreneur to represent the interests of the Osu people.
However, the Dzaase objected to his nomination, citing his past actions. "We wish to bring to the attention of the appointing authority that Ishmael Nortey Adumuah was installed by the accredited Osu Kinkawe Dzaase, led by Nii Saban Atsen VII, but was later suspended due to acts of subversion against both the Osu Kinkawe Dzaase and the Osu Stool," the letter stated.
The Dzaase further argued that Adumuah's leadership had been divisive, causing tensions across all four quarters of the Osu Traditional Area.
