The embattled Member of of Akwatia North, Ernest Yaw Kumi exited the chamber of following the issuance of a bench warrant by the Koforidua High Court on Wednesday, February 19,2025.
According to multiple reports, the bench warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court.
The MP had disobeyed an interim injunction issued against him on January 7, 2025, which barred him from being sworn in and admitted as the Member of -elect for the Akwatia constituency due to an ongoing legal battle over his election.
Presiding Judge, Justice Senyo Amedahe ruled that the convict had consistently failed to appear in court throughout the hearing of the contempt case.
