The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has given the Ghana Police Service until the end of March 2025 to provide concrete updates on the investigation into the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, February 18, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor warned that if the police fail to meet the deadline, the Association will take the matter to the ECOWAS Court of Justice for redress.

The ultimatum follows the GJA's earlier press conference on January 22, 2025, where concerns were raised over the prolonged delay in finding those responsible for Hussein-Suale's assassination.

Mr Dwumfuor stated that the lack of progress had diminished the Association's trust in the police. "In that regard, we serve notice that if by the end of March 2025, the Ghana Police Service has not come out with something concrete on the investigation, arrest, and prosecution of suspects in the murder case, we shall proceed to the ECOWAS Court of Justice to seek resolution for this matter," he stressed.
