The National Identification Authority (NIA) has received 700,000 blank Ghana Cards to address the backlog of pending applications, including first-time issuances, card replacements, and updates to personal information.

According to a statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Directorate on Tuesday, 18th February 2025, the blank cards were delivered on Monday, following weeks of negotiations led by the Acting Executive Secretary.
