Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise has accused the incumbent Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, of being a dictator in the discharge of his duties in Parliament.
Speaking on Asetena Pa with Akoto Mansa in an interview shared on YouTube, the former Member of Parliament for Bekwai stated that the Speaker assumes powers beyond his remit and perceives himself as Parliament itself, leading him to act outside his designated role. "Honorable Bagbin has a different approach, and I don't agree with him on many things.
He approaches the Speaker's position as though he is Parliament.
However, according to parliamentary architecture, the Speaker is not part of the proceedings in the House.
