The World Health Organization (WHO) donated a consignment of essential health commodities to the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Accra on February 18, 2025.
This initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen the country's response to meningitis.
Dr Frank Lule, WHO Representative to Ghana, expressed his excitement at presenting the commodities in the fight against meningitis and reiterated that WHO remains fully available and ready to provide additional support whenever needed. "WHO is ever ready to support you in the fight against diseases," he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the ministry, , the Minister of Health assured the public that the recent outbreak is under control with the WHO dispatching technical assistance in supporting the ministry's efforts.
