The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Dr.

Otchere Addai Mensah, has disclosed that the hospital has been operating without a mammogram machine for the past 18 years.

This critical piece of equipment, used to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages, has been absent from one of Ghana's leading healthcare facilities, raising serious concerns about the state of healthcare delivery in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Kojo Marfo on Abusua Nkommo at Abusua965FM, Professor Addai Mensah painted a grim picture of the hospital's resource challenges. "For 18 years, Komfo Anokye has not had a mammogram machine-the machine used to check for breast cancer in women," he said.
