The Free Senior High School (SHS) policy has been a major milestone in Ghana's education system, but concerns about its implementation continue to spark debate.

Speaking on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGH, Wedad Sayibu, Director of School for Life, emphasized the need for a national dialogue to refine the policy. "There is a general agreement that Free SHS is a good initiative, but the main concerns are about its quality, efficiency, and sustainability," she stated.

According to her, while the policy has increased access to education, it is important to assess how equitable it has been and whether all intended beneficiaries are truly receiving its benefits.

School for Life believes that national discussions should explore alternative financing models and strategies to improve the program's structure. "We need to take on board various perspectives and find sustainable ways of implementing this policy to ensure that no student is left behind," she added.
