President John Dramani Mahama has extended an open invitation to Chinese investors to look out for business opportunities in Ghana. "Ghana is open for business again and I invite our comrade Chinese investor community to look at the opportunities Ghana has to offer and let's create a win-win situation for our two people." President Mahama made the call at the 2025 Lantern Festival of the Chinese people in Accra.
The festival, also known as the Shangyuan, is a Chinese event that marks the national day of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The event was organised by the Chinese Embassy in Accra on the theme: "Celebrating the 65th anniversary of China-Ghana relations and Chinese Lantern Festival Gala".
The President noted that celebrating the lantern festival was an important occasion in Chinese culture that signalled unity, renewal, and hope.
