A law lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has suggested to the Attorney General to constitute a team from his office to look into the cases presented by the ORAL team.
Speaking in an interview on TV3's New Day, Tuesday, Justice Abdulai disagreed with calls for the setting up of new courts and tribunals purposely for these cases by the ORAL team. "What I will recommend strongly is getting a team from the Attorney General's office that are purely in charge of this and nothing more they should have all the advantage of maybe tax expert and maybe financial experts and auditors, I think that would be a better way of handling this," he stated. "I don't think a new court is the way to go.
If you are going to do that then I would rather recommend the wholesale implementation of getting more equipment, a lot more judges and more resources," he added.
Justice Abdulai believes that the meticulous commitment to investigate the cases presented to ensure due diligence in justice delivery must be prioritized as well.
