The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has stated that he is prepared to face legal consequences if charged with inciting violence.
His remarks come in the wake of widespread criticism following his call for New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in Ablekuma North to stand by their fellow party members during confrontations with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
During a gathering of NPP supporters at a meeting with the party's parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Akua Afriyie, Annoh-Dompreh reportedly urged party members to take action when confronted by their political opponents. "If indeed you are a member of the NPP and you see your fellow party member fighting a member of the NDC, join your party member to beat the NDC member," he told the crowd.
He also accused the NDC of deliberately disrupting the Electoral Commission's (EC) collation process and warned that the NPP would not tolerate any further delays.
