Private Legal Practitioner and former Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum, Captain (RTD) Nkrabea Effah Dartey, has asserted that the dealings of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) will amount to nothing, questioning the existence of political will to prosecute persons found culpable.
This comes after committee members of ORAL officially presented its report to President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, January 10.
In an interview with Channel One News, Effah Dartey noted that Ghana has an elaborate system of justice which consists of the Attorney General Department, the Criminal Investigative Department and other public investigative agencies.
The former Berekum MP questioned the existence of political will to prosecute public officials and individuals found culpable once the Attorney General takes the matter to court since the Mahama government dropped corruption-related cases a few weeks after assuming office. "It will end nowhere because, in Ghana, we have a very elaborate system of justice.
