The Western Region recorded a rise in road traffic crashes in 2024, with fatalities surging by 55.83%, according to statistics from the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA).
The report indicates that the number of deaths increased from 120 in 2023 to 187 in 2024, representing 55.83%.
However, injuries decreased by 19.21%, from 687 to 555.
The data reveals that 743 crashes were recorded between January and December 2024, marking a 5.24% increase from the 706 cases documented in 2023.
