The Kusaug Youth Movement (KYM) has condemned what it describes as a "military-aided slaughter" at Bawku, an area that has been embroiled in longstanding conflict, stressing the need for immediate action from the government to restore peace in the area.
In a statement issued, the Movement, on February 10, 2025, it alleged that a woman and her two children were murdered at Tensungo, a suburb of Bawku, under circumstances the group claims were facilitated by military personnel. "A gruesome murder of two children and their mother was carried out by the war-mongering Bawku Mamprusi settlers during curfew hours.
It is common knowledge in Bawku that everyone is vigilant and watch over their territories both day and night.
As a result, no armed men can beseech any community and cause mayhem with impunity.
