Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has emphasised the need for strict protocols to prevent chaos during vetting proceedings.

Speaking on the matter when he appeared before the committee investigating the chaos that ensued during vetting proceedings on Thursday January 30, 2025 , Dafeamekpor highlighted the importance of adhering to established practices and conventions within parliamentary committees. "I think that going forward we should have strict protocols.

Protocols already exist, practices exist, conventions exist.

The caucuses that constitute committees, if you disagree with a committee's decision, first committee decisions must always be reduced to voting. "So that somebody doesn't come later in the day and say that we agreed that we will do this and you are doing the other thing," Dafeamekpor stated.
