President John Dramani Mahama has promised to operationalize the long-abandoned Anomabu Fisheries College in the Central Region after his government's first budget is presented in March.
Speaking during his Thank You tour in Anomabu on Thursday, February 6, Mahama revealed that he has directed the Fisheries Minister, Emelia Arthur, to work closely with the Finance Minister to secure funding for the project in the upcoming budget.
The college, which was initiated by the NDC government in 2011, was left incomplete after Mahama left office.
Designed to train 300 students in sustainable fishing and aquaculture, the facility includes lecture theatres, a principal's bungalow, fish ponds, boreholes, and a water pumping station.
