The newly appointed Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande, has urged the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, to reflect on his posture and leadership style, warning that he risks being sacrificed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The Member of Parliament for Effutu has come under heavy criticism from a section of the public, who accuse him of adopting a hawkish style and unnecessarily obstructing government business in Parliament.

His alleged incitement of chaos during the vetting of ministerial nominees, which led to the destruction of some properties in the ensuing melee, has been widely condemned.

Speaking on UTV, Mustapha Gbande, who is also the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), warned that if the NPP fails to check Afenyo-Markin's conduct, he risks falling on his own sword, and the NDC will not prevent that from happening. "I think that the Minority Leader, Afenyo-Markin, should reflect on his posture, his style, and how he intends to lead the Minority.
