The Member of Parliament for Pusiga, Laadi Ayii Ayamba, has alleged that Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin launched an unprovoked attack on the committee clerk, Gifty Jiagge-Gobah, during the ministerial vetting on January 30.
According to Ayamba, the incident disrupted the proceedings and made it difficult for the clerk to administer the oath, as directed by the chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor.
She emphasized that the altercation created unnecessary tension during the session, affecting the smooth conduct of the vetting process. "As soon as we began, the minority entered, and what I witnessed was a direct attack by the Minority Leader on the clerk, Gifty Jiagge-Gobah, without any provocation.
As a woman, I could not sit back and watch this happen.
