The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to uphold democratic principles and allow due process to take its course in the Ablekuma North parliamentary election dispute.

His remarks follow a statement by Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, who suggested that the NPP would stage a protest if the Electoral Commission (EC) fails to declare the seat for the party's candidate, Akua Afriyie.

In an interview with Channel One News on Thursday, February 6, Ahiagbah criticized the NDC's call for a rerun, insisting that the election was conducted successfully and that there is no justification for another vote.

He blamed the delays in result collation and declaration on what he described as acts of vandalism by the NDC. "The NDC should change its position and begin to act like the democrats they are purporting to be and allow the process unfold," he stated.   Ablekuma North: Minority gives EC one week ultimatum to declare Akua Afriyie winner
