With Valentine's Day around the corner, Ghanaian rapper Opanka has shared his thoughts on the tradition of gifting flowers, questioning whether it truly fits within Ghanaian culture.
Born Armstrong Affum, the rap star believes that while flowers are cherished in some parts of the world, they may not hold much significance for most people in Ghana.
He urged Ghanaians to stop blindly mimicking Western culture and instead understand it before adopting it.
He particularly took issue with the perception that Ghanaian men are unromantic for not gifting flowers to their partners, a tradition common in Western societies."We should not always do what the Whites do.
