The Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has made allegations to the effect that the Minority caucus' plot to block the approval of , as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sam Nartey George, as the Minister of Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation had the backing of some MPs on the Majority caucus.

During parliamentary proceedings on February 4, 2025, to deliberate on the approval of ministerial nominees, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority caucus advocated for secret voting to determine the approval of , the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Sam Nartey George, the Minister of Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation.

According to the Minority, there was a lack of consensus on the nominations of Ablakwa and Sam George, arguing that secret voting (a system in which MPs' votes would be private) would be the most effective way of determining the fate of the nominees.

However, the Majority subsequently approved the two nominees after the Minority boycotted the process.
