Private Legal Practitioner Martin Kpebu is of the view that John Setor Dumelo was given the Deputy Agric Minister portfolio as a move to encourage young Ghanaians to go into agriculture.
Even though his appointment surprises him, he is of the view that young people will now be motivated to go into agriculture. "Although I am surprised, Dumelo being a very young person, his presence there would hopefully motivate more young people to go into agriculture," he said.
To him, with the appointment of John Dumelo, the government will do a lot more to showcase young people on their farms.
He believes that this will motivate young Ghanaians to take to agriculture because the experts have said that it is the future. "We should have a special programme where they will show these young persons on their farms so that it will motivate the unemployed ones so that we will get them into cluster groups, associations so that we will not be hungry.
