Majority Member Mahama Ayariga has emphasized the need for discipline in Parliament following the recent chaos that disrupted proceedings.
He stated that while suspensions were necessary to maintain order, the focus should be on fostering a culture of discipline rather than punishment. "If anybody engages in disorderly conduct, we will cite them for contempt of the house and take action," he asserted Speaking on GTV's Breakfast Show monitored by MyNewsGH.
However, he added that those who show remorse and commit to better conduct should be allowed to return and contribute to legislative work.
Reflecting on the disturbances, Ayariga pointed out that miscommunication played a key role in the altercation.
