President John Dramani Mahama has indicated that his government will in the coming days present to parliament the holiday amendment act to make July 1 a holiday.

The President has proposed that the National Day for prayer and thanksgiving should be held on July 1 for the country to praise the lord and thank him for his grace for the country.

Apart from these holidays, the President says the amendment will also include an extra day for Muslims to after their Eid Al Adhar celebrations.

The President made this known when he was addressing the people of the western region during his thank you tour in the region.
