A four-month-old baby lost his life in a fire that broke out at the Kisseiman Junction slum near Achimota-Samodak on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) announced the incident in a Facebook post, describing the outbreak as devastating. "A devastating fire broke out at the Kissiman Junction slum near Achimota-Samodak, resulting in the tragic death of a four-month-old baby," it indicated.

According to the GNFS, prompt intervention from its personnel prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding buildings. "Firefighters from the Legon and Abelemkpe Fire Stations responded swiftly, arriving at 0424 hours-just 12 minutes after receiving the distress call at 0412 hours.

Their prompt efforts prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, including a warehouse," it noted.
