Management of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital has told bereaved families that the hospital is undertaking a refurbishment of its cold room facilities to improve service delivery.

This was disclosed by the Mortuary Manager of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, George Dankyi, in an exclusive interview on February 4.

Mr Dankyi stated that "two out of the four fridges have developed faults, and we have been told by the engineers to off the fridge and move the bodies for refurbishment." "The refurbishment is expected to be completed within six weeks.

Therefore, we kindly urged bereaved families with deceased relatives who have been in the mortuary for three to six weeks or longer to make immediate arrangements for burial or transfer to alternative facilities, " he added.
