The Electricity Company of Ghana and the Ghana Grid Company has announced that the West Africa Gas Pipeline has commenced maintenance work on its gas pipeline from Nigeria to Ghana.
The maintenance work, which started today, February 5, 2025, will end on March 2, 2025.
During this period, gas supply to thermal plants in Tema from Nigeria will be curtailed to allow for the cleaning of the pipeline and the replacement of some subsea equipment.
What this means is that thermal plants in Tema will not have gas to operate and will have to shut down.
