The ongoing investigation into the chaotic ministerial vetting process on January 30, 2025, has revealed tensions and external pressures on the Minority MPs, according to Bernard Ahiafor, Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament and First Deputy Speaker.
In a statement before the committee on February 5, Ahiafor shed light on the frustration that he believes led to the disruptive actions of the Minority during the vetting session.
Ahiafor explained, "I must say that sometimes I see frustration on the part of the minority.
Because sometimes there was some external pressure on them and that has resulted in them doing certain things, which ordinarily should not happen." His comments come after a chaotic standoff between Minority MPs and the Majority, which escalated into a physical clash, destroying tables and microphones during the ministerial vetting process.
