The Director of Research at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Dr John Kwakye, has told the government of Ghana to look more to its natural resources to fund its development.
He argues that this has become imperative due to the rapid dwindling of foreign aid.
Dr Kwakye's comments come at a time when the Trump administration reportedly intends to close down the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
President Trump intends to merge the US government's main overseas aid agency with the State Department, as workers were asked to stay out of its Washington headquarters on Monday, February 3.
