The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the postponement of the upcoming Matchday 20 fixtures following the violent incidents and tragic fatality that occurred during the match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko on February 2, 2025.

This decision aims to give the GFA time to engage with relevant stakeholders, including clubs, security personnel, and law enforcement, to discuss the aftermath of the violence and determine the necessary measures to prevent future incidents.

The postponement will also allow the GFA to assess the current situation, conduct consultations, and devise strategies to improve safety protocols for both players and fans across the league.

The GFA has emphasised its commitment to improving the overall football experience in Ghana and underlined that such acts of violence have no place in the game.
