Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has strongly refuted claims that Freemasonry is an occultic society, insisting that the fraternity is deeply rooted in Christian teachings and principles.

Speaking on JoyNews' The Probe on Sunday, February 2, Afenyo-Markin defended Freemasonry following public scrutiny of the group, which intensified after he questioned George Opare Addo's membership during a vetting session.

The discussion quickly gained traction on social media, with some branding Freemasonry as a secretive and cult-like organization.

However, Afenyo-Markin dismissed these assertions, stating that Christianity is at the core of Masonic teachings. "So, I'm telling you that this Rose Choir, Perfection Stage, the highest level of Masonry, is all about the New Testament and Christ, the teachings of Christ.
