Foreign Affairs Minister-designate and Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has revealed that the ORAL team intervened to prevent the demolishing of some 20 bungalows.
According to Okudzeto Ablakwa, the ORAL secretariat received a call about an intended demolishing of some 20 bungalows.
However, the team informed the National Security which later stopped the demolishing of these structures. "I can reveal to you today that since ORAL was established just by receiving information from general public, we have saved this country 20 bungalows which were going to be demolished and I can provide the list," he stated during his vetting on Friday, January 31, 2025. "Bungalows that belonged to the recent department of the foreign affairs, the ministry of Gender, the CSIR bulldozers moved in but because they called the ORAL secretariat and we then called National Security to take action these bungalows were saved," he added.
He applauded the President for the establishment of such a committee to drive the anti-corruption campaign. "One of the jobs that I will ever remain so proud of is this sacrificial job to chair ORAL which is a major plank in President Mahama's anti-corruption drive.
