President John Mahama has underscored the transformative power of technology in Africa's economic growth, urging governments to embrace digital infrastructure as a catalyst for industrialization and job creation.

Speaking at the 2025 Africa Prosperity Dialogues in Accra on February 2, Mr Mahama explained that the continent has a golden opportunity for Africa to leapfrog traditional development models and accelerate economic inclusion.

According to him, Africa must go beyond merely exporting raw materials and instead leverage technology to process and add value to its natural resources.

He highlighted how digital transformation could drive financial inclusion, improve public service delivery, and create new economic opportunities. "We don't need to go back to inventing the wheel.
