Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, Francis Xavier Sosu has lauded Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin's disciplinary measures in response to the violent confrontations that erupted at the Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 31 and Friday morning.
In an interview with Channel One News, the MP underscored that parliament is a house of lawmakers and thus should not metamorphose into a lawless house.
He posits that the speaker has performed his mandate of ensuring that honour, dignity and sanctity prevail pursuant to the standing orders of the house.
His comments come after the Majority and Minority Chief Whips, Frank Annoh-Dompreh and Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, along with Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli and Jerry Ahmed Shaib were suspended from parliamentary sittings for two weeks, effective Friday, January 31.
